For the new Spotify Lounge at Drumsheds London, creative studio Cake developed a concept that blends industrial rawness with refined detailing — a space designed for artists, guests, and collaborators to experience the venue from a new perspective.

Our team was brought in to deliver the build, turning Cake’s design vision into a tangible space within Drumsheds’ existing architecture.

We began by cladding the walls in a textured aesthetic material, creating a clean yet tactile backdrop that complements the venue’s industrial fabric. At the heart of the lounge, we constructed a new central bar, complete with decorative steel ornaments fabricated to bring both strength and artistry to the space.

To preserve the raw and unpolished character of Drumsheds, we formed a communal table from breeze blocks, keeping the material exposed and honest. This detail became a subtle anchor to the space — a reminder that the build celebrates construction rather than concealing it.

One of the most striking interventions was the creation of four full-height viewing windows along the side wall. We cut into the existing structure to open sightlines down to the main dance floor, connecting the lounge atmosphere to the energy and movement below.

The finished space is a seamless blend of creative design and precise build execution — a collaboration that brings Cake’s concept to life through craftsmanship, detail, and a shared appreciation for the raw beauty of industrial architecture.
